Meet the Maker

Well Hi!

I'm Sophia Taeschner, and I have a fixation on creation and daydreaming. I am of Aleut and Russian descent, and a born and raised Alaskan.

I started my creative journey on etsy selling crocheted granny square pillows. That turned into earrings, headbands, hats and eventually I found my way into block printing, and now bag making. I did wholesale for about a year, and Etsy, but I burnt out rather quickly. I also do in person Vendor events in the winter. I have learned that rest is essential, and that I'm not an actual machine...just an idea machine without enough hours in the day.

My goal is always to create sturdy, useful, and whimsical handmade items that make an excellent gift for yourself (especially) or someone who would appreciate it, truly. I am a one person operation, but I take timeliness seriously.

I am inspired by the seasons, and my busiest creative time is during any month that it's cold, or raining. My guilty pleasure is horrible weather so that I can be working away on a project inside, guilt free.
